About Me

Hello! I'm Becca, welcome to Amuse Your Bouche! I'm 23 and I live in Liverpool in the north of England, though I'm a southerner at heart - I'm originally from Hertfordshire.

I live with my boyfriend Chris, who I've been with for 7 years. We were long distance for 4 years, so it's great to finally be together. He's a professional drummer, which I think is pretty much the coolest thing ever. We live with a couple of friends and two adorable rats called Nibbles and James, who I love to bits - I often find myself just sitting there watching them when I'm meant to be doing something else.

When I'm not working, I spend my time cooking, taking photos (my photography is still nowhere near where I'd like it to be, but I've improved a lot in just a few months), sewing and reading.

Please feel free to get in touch, I love hearing your comments and questions: amuseyourbouche.cookery@gmail.com

  1. Wow, a fellow chef AND rat lover?! I share my home with 2 little rats as well, Bianca and Gus... and my time at home is pretty much divided between cooking and playing with them :-)!

    1. Aw cool :D are they a girl and a boy? How do you keep them apart?! My housemates used to own rabbits and were literally just a couple of days late in spaying them when they reached the right age - we ended up with 9 at one point haha

    2. Oh geez! My male is actually neutered, so they play freely without any consequences, haha.

    3. I just found your site...and look forward to trying your recipes and stuff on your blog. I love food but don't have motivation to cook sometimes. I want to change that though and start eating better. I guess you can say I'm a vegetarian junk foodie. I've been looking for the best tomato basil recipe... any advice? I'm sure I'll try all of your pastas lol

  2. Hi Becca! I think your photography is amazing! I have a lot to learn for my blog's photos, but I'm taking it one recipe at a time. I don't have any rats, but we have kitties..so I understand your love of your pets. I love your blog and your recipes. I look forward to trying them out! Congrats on your feature on Tasty Kitchen!! :)

  4. Hi Becca! Thanks so much for the comment on my recipe. I have been having a look around your blog and I just love it! It's so nice to see a fellow UK veggie blogger. And I love the photos. How do you cope with our chronic lack of sunlight?? This has made it so hard for me to maintain the blogging schedule over the winter because I work M-F 9-5.

    1. Hey Christine :) I'm lucky (unlucky?) enough that I don't work 9-5 every day, so I can usually get some cooking done at lunchtime a few times a week. It's rubbish though isn't it - through the winter anything I made after about 3pm couldn't be photographed because it was so dingy outside!

  5. Hi Becca! I just found this blog and love it! Im hoping to switch to vegetarian in the coming weeks. I have a small request, would you think about putting together a Student Week.(weeks shopping on a budget and the recipes you could make for the week, also on a time limit) It seems to be hard to find recipes that use similar ingredients to make it work as a student. Thanks :-)

    1. Hi, thanks for you comment! Good luck with making the switch to vegetarian :) Actually I have been thinking of doing some budget-friendly recipes, so I'll keep that in mind!
PS. I recently switched over to Wordpress, so instead of following this blog, please follow www.amuse-your-bouche.com instead - you can find all of the same recipes over there but it will be updated whereas this one will not :)

  6. Would you consider putting together a Student Week Guide? What to buy in weekly shopping, recipes that will work with what was bought and fill out the week, dishes that work on a time table etc. Im a student hoping to become vegetarian but find that a lot of dishes use ingredients that only get used in that dish etc and not exactly quick or affordable so would really appreciate it.
